Music videos I’ll be referencing:

Lyric Video ( Limbo by Keshi)

1. Lyric presentation + performance visuals

2. Use of performance footage or atmospheric scenes. -> convey emotions

- Many lyric videos use abstract visuals, slow zooms and textured overlays.

- editing rhythms -> follow the songs beat

Typical traits: focus on meaning / emotion, text and music fully synchronised, non-literal visuals supporting lyrical content.

Music video (We Hug Now - Sydney Rose)

1. Narrative / relationship focus. -> common MV trope.

2. Performance and MES, MV balance artist performance with loose narrative?

Camera and editing

- close-up shots -> show emotions

- cutting to the beat -> pacing and match musical intensity.

Symbolic visuals: colours, set design, actions
