Photo editing and video clips

Image
In this photo you can see the photos I have taken of very similar statue busts. Below them I am showing the pre-set aperture, shutter speed and ISO. In this next image you can see how I have manually post production edited the photos to enhance the quality and make them look better. This was all done using the automatic camera app on my Iphone (14 Pro Max) This is a quick video I have made to test putting my clips together. However, having had a video editing hobby for a while now, I am quite familiar with these techniques.

Moodboard

Image
In my mood-board I wanted to stick to a similar theme. My mood-board depicts conventions and - possibly- similar scenes which will be shot in my MV. On the left hand side you can see the images I have chosen to represent the theme and aesthetic I will be attempting to film my MV in. On the right hand side you can see I have experimented and highlighted typography, the fonts which will be used for the lyrics in my MV and also the colour scheme I am aiming for.

HW 19.1.26

My production focuses solely on Amelia. Amelia is the actor who we see constantly throughout the scenes. She is positioned and filmed to portray the way some people behave when they are really into a phone call. This is a thing which has been commonly referenced and spoken about on social media. The idea that ‘when the phone call is so good you begin doing weird things.’ Hence why at one point you can see ephedrine laying down with her legs up on the wall. This is intended to depict realism. Portraying one side of a phone call. I decided to have the other recipients voice heard so the audience can feel as though they are included in the conversation. (Will upload video later)

Codes and conventions

Image
Codes and conventions Music videos I’ll be referencing: Lyric Video ( Limbo by Keshi) 1. Lyric presentation + performance visuals 2. Use of performance footage or atmospheric scenes. -> convey emotions - Many lyric videos use abstract visuals, slow zooms and textured overlays. - editing rhythms -> follow the songs beat Typical traits: focus on meaning / emotion, text and music fully synchronised, non-literal visuals supporting lyrical content. Music video (We Hug Now - Sydney Rose) 1. Narrative / relationship focus. -> common MV trope. 2. Performance and MES, MV balance artist performance with loose narrative? Camera and editing - close-up shots -> show emotions - cutting to the beat -> pacing and match musical intensity. Symbolic visuals: colours, set design, actions

Initial ideas

Music video song choice     Initial ideas: Concept / form: Narrative story telling, with lyrics, Alternative/indie pop dark themes. (TW: suicide) Internal conversations, confronting their own addiction, trauma, and self-destructive patterns.   Lyrics: I hope your dad’s done hating you The apple doesnt fall far from the tree You think that shit you smoke saves you But it wont, between you and me   And I think part of you hated me So all me was surviving you There’s nothin’ better I could be I love the sick because I have to   You were wrong for what you did to me But I was sick for kind of liking it Oh, it all goes bad eventually I’ve loved the sick since I knew how to breathe   I'm pretty sure that you’re using again Oh, you don't know what that does to me Well I guess I could never save you I’ve loved the sick since I knew how to breathe   I hope you settle with that gi...
